Cubitron™ II abrasive belts are the result of the 3M™ laboratories' continuous search for innovations for ever more efficient function gains.
With an abrasive consisting of triangular profiled aluminium oxide ceramic grains in closed powder, calibrated and oriented by electrostatic process, the cutting speed is exceptional and the heating of the material worked considerably reduced.

The uniformly sized and precisely shaped aluminium oxide ceramic abrasive grains are perfectly calibrated for a uniform surface finish on the hardest metal surfaces.
Profiled in triangles and electrostatically oriented towards the front, the ceramic grit provides a clean, crisp cut, unlike conventional abrasives that work by ripping and removing material.
During use, the grit breaks up and continuously exhibits sharp edges, allowing for a cool operating temperature that reduces the risk of discolouration and heat stress cracking and increases cutting speed very significantly.

Due to their exceptional qualities, Cubitron™ II 3M™ ABRASIVE BELTS can be used with medium to high working pressure significantly reducing operator fatigue while ensuring increased productivity.
These exceptional qualities provide Cubitron™ II 3M™ ceramic ABRASIVE BELTS with up to four times the life of traditional ceramic grain belts while maintaining their cutting power and speed.
A very strong Y (X rigid) backing made of polyester cloth.
Composed of a closed-coat aluminium oxide ceramic abrasive bonded by a high-performance resin to a tough rigid polyester cloth backing, Cubitron™ ceramic ABRASIVE BELTS are assembled with a high-strength Film-Lok seal and can be used in both dry and wet environments.
Cubitron™ II 3M™ ABRASIVE BELTS for processing the hardest metals.
Cubitron™ II 3M™ ceramic abrasive belts are most commonly used by cutlery manufacturers on medium to high pressure backstands for processing the hardest metals.
From grinding weld seams to the most perfect finishing of metal surfaces, these belts will also allow knifemakers to achieve a balanced and homogeneous grinding of their knife blades by avoiding the risk of excessive heating of the thinner parts thanks to their cutting quality and cool operating temperature.
The hardest materials such as stainless steel, carbon or cobalt-chromium can be processed easily with perfect results.
